So many people are talking about Cher these days. Who is she? What does it all mean?
As far as I can make out:
Cher is a singer who fought in the American Revolution (“I’m so old; I dated Cher when she was only in her SIXTIES.”)
If you have anything to say about Cher, please leave a comment below.
17 Ghits for “my favourite pixies album” and 68 Ghits for “my favorite pixies album”. The results:

I tweaked the results. Some pages did not actually mention a favourite album; others contained the same article. I also realise many people will talk about their favourite Pixies album without using the exact phrase “my favo(u)rite pixies album”. I don’t care: I am doing this for fun, not for a research paper.
My favourite (at the moment) is Bossanova Surfer Rosa Doolittle. I have my reasons.
Yes! You read it here, boys and girls.
We all know how great David Hasselhoff is. He acts, he sings, he tears down the Berlin Wall… and he is about to turn hip-hop superstar.
His neighbour Ice-T is set to produce the Hoffmeister’s first hip-hop album. Check out the story.
I collect examples of graffiti pertaining to the songs of Bob Dylan. So far I have one example; I found this in Basildon town centre:
I am currently listening to The Charlatans‘ new album - Up at the lake. Singer Tim Burgess cites Curtis Mayfield, New Order, David Lynch and Bob Dylan as influences on Up at the Lake. Some of my absolute favourites - how could I not buy it?

I bought their very first album, Some Friendly, in 1990 when I was a bright-eyed schoolboy and into the whole Madchester thing. I remember having a poster on my bedroom wall - it was entitled IN THE AREA and split into four sections containing pictures of The Charlatans, Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets, and Happy Mondays.
Back then I rated The Charlatans as my fourth favourite of the pack, but they are the band who have kept on keeping on. I have seen them a few times over the years, have bought all their albums and feel like we have grown up together.
Cheers, guys. Looking forward to seeing you at the Fleadh Festival this summer.
Well, guess what? I have just redesigned the ICT department website. We are getting there…
Some of the political weblogs I read:
Liberal Democrat Watch: In politics, being ridiculous is more damaging than being extreme.
Tory Trouble: Plumbing the depths of the Conservative Party.
Boris Watch: Keeping an eye on Boris Johnson, the shadow minister for the arts.
Tom Watson MP: Labour MP for West Bromwich East. I entered his “flag for the Liberal Democrats” competition: see my entry here.
I’ll add some more of my favourites shortly.
DISCLAIMER: I do not endorse the content or opinions of any of these sites. I am of no political persuasion, although during my youth I was a paid-up member of the Liberal Democrats for a year.
I helped set up Mr Holt’s website over the Easter holidays. I hope he updates his more frequently than I do mine.
